(“ESUCP”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) values the privacy of constituents visiting our website located at https://www.eastersealsucp.com and your personal information collected in our through our products, services, and programs, or otherwise through any interaction you have with us (the “ESUCP Online Network”) and is committed to protecting your personal information as set forth in this privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”). This Privacy Policy describes what personal information we collect about you, including how we collect it, how we use it, and with whom we may share it.

Changes to Our Privacy Policy

ESUCP reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy at any time. The most recent version of the Privacy Policy is reflected by the effective date at the top of this Privacy Policy. All amendments to this Privacy Policy will be effective immediately upon notice thereof, which we may give by any means, including by positing a revised version of the Privacy Policy or notice on the ESUCP Online Network.

What is Personal Information?

By using the term “personal information” in this Privacy Policy, we mean any information that can be used to directly or indirectly identify a specific individual. 

The Personal Information We Collect

When using the ESUCP Online Network (for example, when donating online, completing an action alert, registering for a special event, purchasing a product, or completing various feedback forms) you may be asked to provide your personal information by either us or a third-party service provider. Personal information collected may include name, email address,  address, telephone number, payment card or bank account information or any other personal information you choose to provide to us or such third party service provider. .  Demographic and profile data (i.e., age, gender, browser usage) is also collected via the ESUCP Online Network. 

Cookies and Similar Technologies

We and our third-party service providers may collect information automatically from you when you access and use the ESUCP Network, which may include information such as the dates and times you visit the ESUCP Network, the page you view, how long you view each page, referring / exit URLS, your browser type, your home domain, your internet service provider, and the total number of visitors to the ESUCP Network. In some instances, we or our third-party service providers may collect this information through cookies or similar technologies. A cookie is a small text file a website places on a site visitor’s computer hard drive. Its purpose is to let the site know when a user visits and to perform certain functions such as saving passwords and personal preferences. Cookies help evaluate visitors’ use of a website, such as what viewers want to see and what they never read. This information allows ESUCP to better focus online information and to concentrate on information people are using. However, making such adjustments may, in certain instances, prevent you from taking full advantage of the ESUCP Network (or some portion thereof) and its capabilities, or cause some features of the ESUCP Network to function improperly or more slowly.

Opting Out of Communications

ESUCP provides you with the opportunity to opt-out of receiving our online and offline communications. 

If you would like to opt-out of receiving email communications, please update your user profile. Email unsubscribe requests are processed immediately.

To discontinue the receipt of postal mail, please contact ESUCP by calling us at 800-662-7119. 

Correct/Update Your Profile

ESUCP offers the option to change and modify personal information in our control. Upon your request, ESUCP will remove personal information retained in organizational databases by calling us at 800-662-7119. ESUCP reserves the right to maintain certain information on users who have had their access to the ESUCP Online Network blocked.

Use of the Personal Information We Collect

ESUCP and our third-party service providers collect and use personal information for reasons that include, but are not limited to:

  • providing our products and services to you;
  • processing donations;
  • operating and providing the ESUCP Online Platform;
  • improving the ESUCP Online Platform, user experience, and our business; 
  • security purposes, including monitoring, risk assessment, addressing integrity and security issues related to the ESUCP Online Platform, and fraud and crime prevention/detention;
  • sending information that you request from us, including responding to inquiries or requests for information about or from ESUCP;
  • sending promotional or marketing materials regarding ESUCP; 
  • evaluating your qualifications for career positions with ESUCP;
  • other business purposes, including, without limitation, verifying your identity, age, and/or payment details, investigating complaints about the ESUCP Online Platform, research and analysis, marketing, advertising, and dispute resolution;
  • in connection with a merger or similar consolidation of ESUCP into or with another entity; 
  • complying with law enforcement, government agencies, or a governmental mandate;
  • complying with or as permitted by any ESUCP policies and any applicable legal requirements; and
  • engaging in other activities discussed under this Privacy Policy or by ESUCP in its discretion. 

Who We Share Personal Information With

Except as described below, ESUCP will not sell, share, or exchange personal information collected from the ESUCP Online Network with other organizations. 

ESUCP may share your personal information with our service providers for purposes of delivering our products and services, processing your donation to us, managing the ESUCP Online Network and operations, preventing or mitigating actual or suspected illegal or fraudulent activities, and as required or permitted by applicable legal requirements or processes. We may also share personal information with professional advisors, such as lawyers, auditors, bankers, and insurers, in the course of the professional services they render to us.

We may also disclose personal information if we become subject to a subpoena or court order, if we are otherwise legally required to disclose information, to establish or exercise our legal rights, or to assert or defend legal claims. 

Security of Your Personal Information

All credit card and profile information provided to ESUCP or our Internet software partner, Blackbaud, Inc., is transmitted using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption using Verisign as a payment gateway. SSL is a proven coding system that allows a browser to automatically encrypt, or scramble, data before it is sent.

ESUCP also protects account information by placing it on a secure portion of the ESUCP Online Network that is only accessible by certain qualified employees of ESUCP. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet is 100% secure and no security system is impenetrable. ESUCP takes commercially reasonable measures to protect your personal information, however ESUCP cannot ensure or warrant the security of such information.

For your convenience, ESUCP may have links to other websites outside of the ESUCP Online Network. ESUCP is not responsible for the content of any linked website, or any link contained in a linked website, or any changes or updates to such websites. The inclusion of any link does not imply endorsement by ESUCP of that website.

In addition, please be aware that ESUCP is not responsible for, and this Privacy Policy does not apply to, the privacy practices of such other websites. 

Social Media Platforms

Any information, communications, or material that you submit to any pages associated with ESUCP on social media platforms is done at your own risk and without any expectation of privacy. All such submissions are subject to the terms of use and privacy policy of such social media platforms. 

Children

The ESUCP Online Network is intended for a general audience and is not intended by use by children under 13 years of age. ESUCP does not knowingly collect personal information about children or sell products to children through the ESUCP Online Network. Consistent with the Children’s Online Privacy Act, we will not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13.

Visiting the ESUCP Online Network from Outside the United States

If you are visiting the ESUCP Online Network, or any part thereof, from outside of the United States, your personal information may be transferred to, stored and processed in the United States. The data protection and other laws of the United States may not be as comprehensive as those in your country. By using any portion of the ESUCP Online Network, you consent to the transfer of your personal information to our servers and databases in the United States and those third parties with whom we share such personal information as described in this Privacy Policy.

Do Not Track Requests

Certain state laws require that we indicate whether we honor “Do Not Track” settings in your browser concerning targeted advertising. We adhere to the standards set out in this Privacy Policy and do not monitor or follow any Do Not Track browser requests.
