Developmental Therapy

Tailored developmental interventions and therapy

Developmental Therapy is a collection of individually designed instruction, training or functional developmental intervention activities. The activities are based on assessing the unique needs and strengths of a child or adult with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD).

The Individual and Community Services team supports individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD). We provide one-to-one services uniquely tailored to help each unique person acquire and maintain daily living skills.

Developmental Therapy helps children and adults acquire the life skills they did not gain during the developmental stages of their life and will most likely not develop without additional training and one-to-one support.

For children, we focus on strengthening major developmental skills that could include training and activities in self-help, language and cognitive development and psychosocial skills.

For adults, we focus on strengthening appropriate developmental functioning such as self-care, mobility, socialization, independent living, self-advocacy and understanding their rights.
