Recreation Paraprofessional / After-School Program

What You’ll Do

You will be responsible for supporting individuals at learning and increasing skills in all areas of independence including, but not limited to: Self-help skills, independent living skills, accessing community resources, and pursuit of leisure activities. (If an individualized plan exists, this document serves as a guide for these supports).  Assist team with identifying, developing, and monitoring individual’s goals while adjusting as needed.  Participate in all program activities while ensuring the safety, health, hygiene, and nutritional needs of the individuals we support are met. Lift and transfer individuals as needed.

 What We’re Looking For:

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with After School kids ranging from 3yrs-19yrs old with IDD.

  • Minimum of 21 years of age with High School Diploma or GED (One year of college or equivalent preferred).
  • Two years of experience working with children and/or adults with developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Valid North Carolina driver’s license, clean driving record, and current insurance required.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.
