Food Truck Intern (INTERNAL ONLY)

The position is a non -supervisory position working on the SensABLE snacks food truck business program in various roles to gain experience and training. The Food Truck Intern will continue to work in various roles they held while volunteering with the intention to learn if they are eligible for hire in the role as a food truck employee. An intern will work to improve performance areas on each job task, acquire more task skills, and be coached on the job in soft skill acquisition in order to become more employable. The average timeframe of this role is @90 days but each intern will be supported in an individualized manner to ensure job satisfaction, skill acquisition, and that the sensABLE snacks mission is being fulfilled through this role. The Food Truck Employee is supervised by the Food Truck Manager or designee.

Essential Job Functions in Various Tasks Assigned:

  • Onsite commissary inventory and stocking.
  • Administrative: copying, printing, filing, counting cash drawer, charging technology
  • Marketing and Social Media
  • Maintenance and cleaning of the truck
  • Stocking the truck and inventory on the truck
  • Laundering of the uniforms
  • Checking appliance temperature
  • Making Coffee
  • Deposit Cash
  • Fill up food truck with gas
  • Shopping for inventory and resupplying condiments.
  • Setting up truck for vending onsite
  • Responsible for Cashiering, Vending, Clerking, Customer Service
  • Announcements from the truck
  • Direct Customers and pass out information

Closing duties to include:

  • Check levels, turn off the generator, check inventory, check goods, and secure all doors, drain water, clean sinks, empty trash and clean pale. Bring in laundry and plug truck power cord.
  • Maintains a neat appearance with regard to appropriate dress and grooming;
  • Keeps the Supervisor aware of work issues as needed;
  • Interacts with coworkers and supervisors in a professional manner.
  • Maintains regular attendance and punctuality, and follows procedures regarding time off.
  • Follows all ESUCP Policies and Procedures as appropriate to the position.
  • Demonstrates Easter Seals valued behaviors of Accountability, Commitment and Caring as appropriate to the position.
  • Completes required training within prescribed timeframes.
  • Complete any additional job duties as assigned by the food truck manager or designee.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Demonstrates a desire to work cooperatively with others, and exhibits a willingness to learn and follow instructions and accept guidance from an Easterseals UCP staff person.

Essential physical requirements:

  • Be able to lift up to a maximum of 30lbs. in order to pick up equipment, supplies, etc.
  • Standing and bending for long periods of time.
  • Withstand outside weather elements such as heat or cold.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check
