What You Will Be Doing:
The Employment Specialist /Job Coach performs as an integral part of the management team supporting adults with disabilities and/or mental health challenges. Primary duty is to secure community-based employment for individuals receiving services by creating connections with community employers and identifying suitable job opportunities.
- Responsible for creating connections with community employers to identify and create job opportunities for individuals receiving services.
- The Job Coach may also provide evaluation and intensive training services in the community for the individuals served and supported as their caseloads permit. This position will be the primary contact for VR counselors for all individuals assigned.
- Develop resumes, prepare and accompany individuals to job interviews while assisting in filling out applications and related paperwork.

What We’re Looking For:
- A High School diploma or GED required. College degree a plus.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience working with adults with disabilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of the labor market and community services agencies, as well as skills in writing task analysis, systemic job training, counseling, advocacy, and supported employment, are preferred.
- Must have a valid North Carolina driver’s license, clean driving record, and active insurance.
- Reliable transportation is necessary to service this community-based program.
