Beaufort Music Festival Donates to EMPOWER Program

Beaufort Music Festival supports music therapyBeaufort Arts and Music organizers, Beaufort Music Festival and OUTREACH program have donated $2,500 to Easterseals UCP’s EMPOWER program in Morehead City to support weekly music therapy sessions.

Easterseals UCP’s EMPOWER program uses music therapy to provide support to children and adults with disabilities and mental health challenges. The program promotes activities and training to over 30 individuals a week through enriching recreational, respite and supported employment services.

Beaufort Arts and Music is a volunteer-run, 501c3 nonprofit organization that works in the Beaufort and Crystal Coast community to promote tourism through music. This partnership with Easterseals UCP is part of the organization’s core mission to enhance music opportunities in the community.

Individuals from Beaufort Arts and Music had the pleasure of visiting Easterseals UCP’s EMPOWER of Morehead City to meet program participants, team members and for a tour of the facility. Many thanks to Katherine Barrientos, EMPOWER Morehead City Director, Kimberly Wade, Recreation and Wellness Supervisor and Mary Withington, Music Director for guiding the tour and sharing the ways they support kids and adults with disabilities in our community.

Thank you, Beaufort Arts and Music, for supporting Easterseals UCP’s EMPOWER program through your generous donation.
